Description
The arctic blast in the winter of 2019 brought such intense cold, parts of the Potomac River froze. This was truly a sight to see and hear, as the temps warmed the movement of the river caused the ice to crack and pop as it folded in on itself stacking large plates of ice . With the sun bursting with its warmth on the ice I could not help but think of Robert Frost famous poem...
Fire and Ice
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
